Homework
I will be sending home optional phonics books to complete as homework each month. We will have occasional artful learning projects to be completed at home throughout the school year that are required.
My thoughts on homework in Kindergarten are this:
• It should not take more than 15 minutes per night (play is important; family is important, your child has been in school all day)
• It should be appropriate for the age/developmental level of Kindergartners
• It should reflect what we are working on in class.
• It should not involve ALL paper-pencil activities.
• It should vary by day and by week.
If you feel like your child should have more homework, he/she can also supplement the sent homework by doing extra Math, and of course read, read, read!!
